Fortunately, virtually all the things that can make you attractive before a customer or prospect are things you can learn. In order words, in attraction marketing, you suffer no disadvantages as a result of some talents you are not born with. Isn’t that great?

That said, the main thing you need to bear in mind concerning this marketing concept is that you need to know those things that attract people to people. Yes, why would a customer prefer to order a product from one online marketer out of the several that have been approaching him?

And why would this customer keep going back to this same marketer each time he needs another of that product or a related product? We can’t quite pin it down to coincidence. It all comes down to a few things that one marketer does differently (and better!) than the other marketers.

Two things are very central in attraction marketing: (1) under normal conditions, people would patronize the marketer who understands his products and business very well. (2) People would choose the marketers who care about the buyers’ feelings.

One thing that will attract clients to you as an online marketer is having a good knowledge of the product you’re selling. How would you perceive a marketer who couldn’t answer your questions concerning a product he’ or she is introducing to you?

If the marketer gave you some mixed-up and incomprehensible information regarding his product or business, are you likely to buy into whatever he or she is promoting? Unlikely.

So don’t be that marketer! A lack of demonstrable knowledge of what you’re promoting repels rather than attracts prospects. It creates doubts in the minds of potential clients.

But if on the other hand you expertly educate a prospect about a product or service, doing so in a manner that teaches the prospect the various ways he can maximize the utility of a product or service, you would have won their trust and confidence!

They’ll come back to you the next time they need information around your niche market. Also, such impressed clients are more likely to consider your recommendations. If you send them newsletters, they’ll be eager to read it.

If you comment on their blog or on their social media page, they’ll look out for your comments first. Why? Because you have established trust. You have positioned yourself as someone who knows a bit more than the others.

So a key factor in practicing attraction marketing is to gain as much knowledge about your business or product as you possibly can. That way, when you say a little, people will want to hear more. They will keep seeking you out as a reliable source of correct information, an authority. That’s free leads for your online MLM business!

To fully maximize the benefits of attraction marketing, you should also give information to your prospects in ways that show you really care about their success and well-being. Do not give the impression that you’re after the money only.

Of course your prospects undoubtedly know you’re in business to earn a living, just like everyone else. But unlike everyone else, give an indication that you can help them earn a living too with their business.
In order words you’re to give the impression that your presence in their lives will benefit both of you.

Such an attitude of caring for prospects’ interests, if shorn of pretentiousness, is in fact the central magnet of attraction marketing. This is the key to effortlessly attracting torrents of free leads to your MLM business on a daily basis.

Nothing else works better and lasts for longer as a means of generating free leads than establishing yourself as someone who always has something of value to give to those who come to you for help with their online business. It takes a lot of destructive emotions out of the whole activity. It rarely feels like you’re working when you are targeting those who are interested in what you are promoting.

Your major task will simply be to go out there, provide knowledge and insight to those who come to you—and they’ll keep coming once you’ve built that reputation as one possessing valuable info. You won’t need to harass them into buying any product or joining your primary business opportunity. They often decide to do so willingly as a way to keep benefiting from your expert care.

In terms of places where you can search for such target markets, social networking sites are excellent places to visit—Twitter, Digg, Yahoo answers, etc. You can also comment on peoples’ blogs and proffer solutions to certain problems they’re posing. The whole idea is to interact with people in the communities they’re involved in.

Success in MLM will not come to you if all you do is push your offer to every breathing thing that lives near you. Understanding your target market and marketing to them is a far better approach. If you take steps to fully understand this method, you’ll never have to push any prospect to buy or join you.

Your MLM products or your Business what do you talk about first? As a network marketer, which should you project: your products or your opportunity? The answer is none. I’ll tell you why.

If you’ve been observing recent trends in network marketing, the major shift has been a departure from the huge emphasis previously placed on products and network opportunity. This shift is not without reason. At the moment, the major emphasis is on you and the prospect.

The thing is that when we start by projecting our product or business opportunity, we often have to talk to so many people before being able to convert one into our business or product. Unless you’ve first warmed yourself into the heart of a prospect, don’t even consider telling them anything about your ‘wonderful product’ or ‘unique compensation plan.’ And if you think that a 5- minute conversation constitutes a relationship, think again.

Quickly introducing a product to a prospect after only a brief discussion gives you away as another self-serving marketer, intent on selling a product to someone who may not even need it.

So, if you want to attract leaders into your network business, don’t start by introducing products to them. Of course no attempt is made here to discount the importance of excellent products or rewarding opportunities.

The point is, people don’t like to be sold. And unless you first build a trusting relationship with someone, all hypes about your products or opportunity will fall on deaf ears.

So then what? Start by projecting what YOU are! A prospect wants to be comfortable with your person first before they can consider what you are doing. You are the first thing a prospect is judging, not your product, not your business opportunity.

It isn’t without reason that network marketing has so often been called a “people business”. Yes, in this business people join people to benefit from what people are doing.

So lead with YOURSELF, not your product, not your opportunity. Get that?

Now what does this involve? Leading with yourself basically means being people-centric, or people oriented. That means always looking for ways to benefit people.

You should concern yourself with trying to understand your prospects, working with them, and training them in some ways. Of course, this pre-supposes that you have something of value that people need. If you don’t, work at developing your expertise in certain areas first.

The aim is to project you as someone who is knowledgeable in several areas of online business. For example, do you know that so many marketers in this day and age still do not know how to effectively use the internet to reach their target market?

There are millions of others who are struggling in network marketing because they do not know the right way to prospect for new clients. Still others are yet to hear what you are hearing now—that leading with products or opportunity is a road to nowhere!

So there are many ways you can come in and project yourself as a compassionate authority to your prospects. As long as you have information that can help their business which they didn’t know previously, they’ll pay attention.

And because you’ve demonstrated your expertise to these prospects, what happens is that the next time they need help in any area of their business, you’ll be the first person they’ll come to.

Are you ready to start your home business? No amount of time spent preparing to launch your MLM business will deliver the goals and dreams you have set for it unless you……finally take action to implement your business plans.

Call Those MLM Leads!

Are you calling your MLM leads? If you’re going to see any success in your MLM business, then you have to frequently communicate with some of those leads you’ve generated. Part of this involves picking up the phone and calling some of them.

Failing to do this, then you’re just lying to yourself, and you might as well say bye to those big dreams—the exotic cars, the big house, the overseas trips and lots of money.

You see, in a typical 9 to 5 job it’s possible for you to just show up in the morning, then pretend to be working, and still earn your normal bi-weekly paychecks. Of course you also have to find ways to keep your idleness away from your boss. And you always can!

How about displaying a similar attitude in network marketing? Forget it. It just isn’t possible. I mean, yes, you can pretend to your upline leader that you’re prospecting hard, show up at weekly opportunity meetings and product launchings. But in the end, really, it’s either you’re working your MLM business or you’re not. Your results will reveal all! And you’re the boss here.

Working an MLM business is all about the results we turn in. And we can’t fake any of it. So if you’re not determined to set to work and be consistent in doing so, probably you’re not cut out for a MLM business after all! You know, running a MLM business is somewhat like trying to lose weight. What if the person wanting to lose weight is secretly cheating on his diet? Will there be any drop in his weight as time passes?

Well no! So a lack of commitment to the weight loss program will hurt none other than the person himself. So should he be surprised if months or years later his weight remains the same, or worse?

It’s the same in MLM. Despite the fact that you can’t fake certain things to yourself, a lot people still try to do so. They sit in their home offices and do everything else but call their leads.

But know that if you’re not talking to prospects on a regular basis and consistently recruiting new distributors into your MLM business, then there’s no way you’re going to be creating residual income. It’s that simple.

By this I mean you should prepare yourself on ways to respond or react to what a prospect might say. Specifically you should know how to react to a “no” response. Some marketers see it as a “failure verdict,” sort of a proof that they can’t do network marketing. Those are the sort of feelings you are to guard against as you call your leads on the phone.

Two authors, Richard Fenton and Andrea Waltz have a book titled “Go for No.” The book believes that getting as many No’s as possible is actually helpful in sales. I encourage everyone involved in sales, especially network marketers, to read it.

Other books that might help prepare you as you call your leads include “The Slight Edge” by Jeff Olson, and “Eat That Frog” by the master motivator himself, Brian Tracy.

Do not content yourself with hiding behind the computer and doing Facebook or writing a blog or two as your sole method of reaching out to prospects. Internet resources do have their place, and it’s primarily to generate leads for you. But you should take it up from there.

By all means pick up the phone and call those leads. Some are actually expecting your call!

Avoid Negative-Minded People: You’re sure to encounter people who’ll tell you “it’s not possible!” “It won’t work!” they are dream killers! You may not be able to totally avoid them. The most you can do is to ignore them as often as they show up with all the ‘reasons’ why your goals are just unattainable.

Be Determined! It’s impossible to overstress this point. Look, there’ll surely be times when a number of factors will make it look like quitting is the most reasonable thing to do. And detractors as discussed above will always want to make your mind up for you. Refuse to give in! Be determined, and stay focused on what you’ve set out to accomplish for yourself.

Stay Motivated: Look for ways to re-charge your spiritual and emotional battery. Listen to motivational audio recordings or speakers. This will help reinforce your believe in yourself and your abilities—the assurance that you are capable of achieving the goals you’ve set for yourself. This is so vital in combating the influences of negative people and even the effect of occasional poor results from your sincere efforts.

Keep Improving: Yes, aim at becoming an expert at what you do. You cannot achieve your business goals unless first you become real good at different aspects of your business. In network marketing, for example, you’ll need to master prospecting, recruiting, lead generation, and more. So spend time perfecting your skills in these various facets of doing the business. Your success in each aspect of it in turn serves as a motivation that you can master the rest as well.

So set a goal for your business, stick to it, stay motivated, and keep improving your in your skills. These are the things that’ll ensure that your MLM goals will be achieved. And when your goals are attained, your dreams will have materialized!

The 6 Qualities of a Good MLM Leader

Good Leadership qualities are important for success in both online and offline network marketing. Multi-Level Marketing after all is basically about creating a team of distributors and guiding each member of the team on ways to succeed.

To the extent that you are able to project yourself as a leader before your downline or prospects, to that same extent your network business will thrive. And vice versa.

A good leader is one who is able to teach and motivate others on how to practice success principles. In other words, he teaches subordinates how to benefit themselves. A leader is one whose personal example has won the trust and admiration of team members.

They see him as an authority in the business both because of his achievements and because of his useful ideas. Let’s now look at some of the most important qualities an MLM leader needs to display:

You Must Show Fellow Feeling: you must care how your downline members are doing in their business. You must identify with their feelings and show them how to handle frustrating situations that often arise in the business. This is very important.

Most new members would quit the moment it appears that you’re only using them to achieve your own goals. If you wholeheartedly direct and guide them on the path to success, they won’t care how much you’re making. They’ll see you as a partner in progress.

You Must Have Credible Results: you’ll be seen as a leader if you practice what you teach, AND if these teachings are producing observable results for you. In MLM more than in any other business, the phrase “if I can see it I can believe it” is the norm.

People follow leaders whose methods are proven to work, as is exemplified in the life of the leader. Really, you can only promise success to others if you’ve achieved or are achieving it yourself. You can’t give what you don’t have. Most prospects often feel like “what do you know about success when you don’t even have it?”

A Good Leader Must Add Value: what value are you adding to the life or business of your downline distributors? Leadership in network marketing is all about people following someone who shows them how to do things better—how to be better at marketing, how to use certain online tools to prospect (say YouTube or twitter), how to generate
free leads, how to convert leads to customers. Anything that helps team members or prospects on how to achieve the success they want to achieve with their business.

A Good Leader Must Keep Learning: you must continue to develop yourself and grow as a leader. Invest in yourself so that you’ll always have value to add to others who are following you. You might have learnt about attraction marketing as an effective way to get online leads.

Tell your prospects or members of your list exactly how they can implement the strategies of attraction marketing. Stay on top of things, and let your followers hear most tips on how to build their business first from you.

Be Unique: let there be a few things about you that your followers can’t quite get from another marketer. It could be the way you know and call everyone by their name. It could also be in the way you go beyond the call of duty to be of help when requested. Maybe it’s in the way you follow up on issues to ensure they’re resolved.

You Must Stay In Charge: Do not shirk your responsibilities as a leader. A leader is one who makes decisions and follows this up with appropriate actions. This could be challenging at times. But there’s no room for second thoughts once you’ve decided on something. Also, accept responsibility for the outcome of any actions you recommend—good or bad. You’re not supposed to be perfect.

But you must be seen to be truthful and honest. Remember too that you can’t do everything yourself. Sometimes as a leader you may need to delegate a trusted hand to take charge of some things pertaining to team members. But you must always keep an eye on how things are turning out.

Leadership is probably the single most important quality for building a thriving network marketing business. Therefore your efforts to improve in this aspect of your MLM business will bring rich rewards.

Network Marketing—Don’t Chase Family and Friends!

MLM should not be about chasing your family and friends period. Let’s start by stating what is (or what ought to be) obvious: friends and family members are by far the hardest people to recruit in network marketing.

And the newer you are in the MLM business, the harder it becomes to recruit this category of prospects. Consider this: the moment you try to entice a family member or a friend to join your business, the most natural question you get is “how much money are YOU making in the business anyway?”

If you are just starting out in your MLM business, there’s no easy answer to that question. If you admit you not making money in it, then how credible is the business if you are not even making the mega bucks you are promising others?

And were you to cite your rich upline person who’s making lots of money, that only makes you a running boy (or girl), merely working to enrich someone else. How about lying or dodging the question? Don’t even consider lying.

The truth will become obvious soon enough. And a shattered reputation is nearly impossible to rebuild. Nor can you totally dodge the question—people can see through half truths.

There is a second reason why it is often difficult to recruit family and friends. Let’s just say you are enticing them with earning potentials.

Let’s say you are telling them what benefits they’ll derive from using the products you are marketing, say weight loss or multivitamin products. And indeed your products have a track record of producing great results.

Most outsiders will focus on the product’s track record and may want to patronize you based on that. But not your friends and family. These may have known you to be someone who shows little interest in physical fitness and healthy eating.

So whatever you say now may easily be discounted as marketing gimmicks. In a way, you lack credibility in their eyes. Online prospects will consider your message on its own merits.

The third, and perhaps the strongest reason why chasing family members and friends will not build you a strong network is that your business soon reaches a point where it could not grow any larger.

Rumors have it that that was the cause of David Wood’s initial failure in network marketing. He was too focused on his “warm market.” Even when he changed companies, it soon turned out that members of the “new” team comprised all the people he had recruited into his prior company.

So making a list of friends and family members and trying to market to these ones is both tiresome and a dead-end approach to network marketing. There’s a better way.

We hinted earlier that it’s better to begin by pitching the benefits of the products you’re marketing than the financial incentives. What happens is that as people (indeed including family members) begin to see the benefits of the products, and that could move them to want to become affiliates.

An African proverb says that a good product markets itself. In the case of a weight loss product for example, by the time you drop 30 pounds and begin to look several years younger, people are bound to ask what you are using. You will have gained credibility in your business. And the money follows soon after that!

Finally, generate your leads online. There is no end to the amount of prospects you can generate and market to on the internet. There are also many different methods that you can use to generate leads for your business through the net.

Bottom line is, get your leads online. Don’t waste more time trying to sign up friends and families than they are worth. Make your money elsewhere.

If in the end your success persuades them to join you, good. If not, no problem. You have the world to market to. How many are your friends and family members anyway?
