Expect the best for your MLM business. Don’t think you can’t make it. Don’t think that being a salesperson reduces your status in any way. It’s all an attitude.

At 11 am they are still in their bathrobe, or taking one more cup of coffee! How can a person succeed like that?

Be Enthusiastic: passion is like the fuel you need to propel you in your pursuit of financial independence. Enthusiasm has an energy all its own. You’ll especially need this to take you through the low points of your business.

Expect Rejection: yes, and plan how to react to it. Remember that sometimes when prospects say “no” to your solicitations, they are either asking for more time or more explanation from you. Indeed a “no” may actually help you improve your sales techniques. So don’t take it personal.

Be A Good Learner: MLM is a knowledge-based profession. How much you achieve often depend on what you know and who you associate with. So constantly update your knowledge in several areas of the business—prospecting, recruiting, marketing, etc. Also, surround yourself with good, selfless leaders in the industry.

Show Interest in People: remember that in MLM you are actually selling “assurances”. Yes, people buy only when they are convinced that you have their best interest at heart. So show genuine interest in people, be honest. It’s not all about the money. People have a way of knowing when you really care.

Manage Time Wisely: this may sound like item 3 above. But the emphasis here is on scheduling all your activities. Ensure necessary tasks are never left hanging. And avoid procrastination.

Getting New MLM Distributors Off to a Perfect Start

You’ve got a new MLM distributor, at last the new prospect has signed up. Congratulations! Is your job done then? From now on, are you simply going to sit around and wait for when his commission checks (and yours too) begin to trickle in? Quite the opposite, your work has just begun!

If you don’t want him to fail or to have at best a snail-speed growth, then you are going to have to come up with ways to keep his interest burning.

The only way to ensure that is to QUICKLY guide your new distributor to a “Success Path.” Simply put, you need to do all you can to assist the new member to start seeing results sooner than latter.

That’s the only way they’ll stay motivated. And to achieve that, the new guy must be helped to start right.

Here are SIX steps to follow in ensuring that your new MLM distributor is off to a great start:

Ensure that they Use The Product: This is very important. From experience, haven’t you observed that using the products is both the best way to understand how they work as well as the quickest way to be sold on it?

Indeed, if the new distributor doesn’t make any efforts to use any of the company’s products, can they sincerely say they believes in them?

Paperwork: there may also be need to take them through all the paperwork again, including application, product ordering, and any other tool used in your MLM company.

Also make sure they fully understands the company, including its compensation plans, as well as a good understanding of the company’s products and product line.

Finally, Review What Could Possibly Make the New Person Want To Quit: Yes, what things will discourage the new distributor enough to make him consider quitting?

This point is HUGE; forget that we are mentioning it last. Review “emotional landmines” ahead of time and tell your new guy the realistic expectations to have. Such frank talk will take them through the low points of the business when enthusiasm alone won’t be enough.

What does it take to become a MLM leader? The Multi-Level Marketing arena is massively crowded and getting more so everyday that passes. Buyers and prospective customers are constantly bombarded with solicitations to buy into one product or program or the other.

When you combine good marketing strategies with your individuality, you’ll definitely stand out from the crowd. People will begin to follow you as a leader. Remember that none of these two aspects of leadership can be practiced in isolation.

If you are average in marketing but act like everyone else, how can people identify you so as to follow you? On other hand, if you remain unique and original but do not know the first things about MLM marketing, then you might as well kiss your network business goodbye!

The aim here is not to scare you, far from it. It is to help you overcome whatever negative feeling you may be having towards your MLM as a result of poor results. All the top earners in your particular network marketing company have all had to deal with these emotions and more. They kept on keeping on!

Haven’t all their perseverance been worth it? At least you now admire their paychecks and their lifestyle! Yours isn’t far off if you can keep negative emotions in check.

Consider all the reasons why you cannot possibly give up: As long as you continue in your prospecting efforts, there remains a certain hope that success will smile on you one day, soon. And that will mean financial liberation and an opportunity to work for yourself and build wealth for yourself and your loved ones rather than working to enrich someone else and their families; meanwhile, were you to quit, all these

hopes and dreams will come crashing to earth! You’ll then resign yourself, again to a life of serving other people—for life. Is that a more desirable alternative? I doubt it. I’d rather prospect to proper in my MLM.

Finally, remember, as pointed out at the onset, that emotions are a part of life. You would probably have to die to avoid having to struggle with one emotional feeling or the other from time to time. All you need do is learn how to manage them. Put them under control, and allow only the positive aspects of your emotions to influence your MLM prospecting efforts.

Emotions can be both liberating and paralyzing. It all depends on how we allow them to affect us. To succeed in your MLM, you’ll need to allow your emotions to take the back seat. Remember that prospecting is the lifeblood of your network marketing business.

Do not allow negative emotions to cripple your prospecting efforts. Of course, continue to fine-tune your prospecting strategies in harmony with what works in modern-day MLM prospecting.

Go Blogging: Some marketers underestimate the usefulness of blogs. But a well optimized blog can easily be picked up by search engines. Just ensure you post fresh and useful contents to your blog, at least thrice a week. Your blog should also contain a prominent link to your MLM website.

Create and Use “Link Baits”: These are essentially contents on your website which invites visitors to link back to it. This way, any visitor who enjoys the content of your website will link you back to their own website.

This in turn can put them in position to get updates on latest happenings at your MLM website, and they are likely to visit your site again for details.

Give Away Free E-Books: Write or acquire rich-content e-books and offer these to people for free. Humans will forever like free things. A topical e-book being offered for free is sure to attract people to your website. For added effect, you can use an e-book as an incentive to get people to join your mailing list.

Ensure a good Quality Content Website: Having quality contents is probably one of the best ways to increase traffic to your MLM website. Articles and other contents on your site should be free from spelling and grammatical errors. Aim at repeat visitors.

And don’t forget that visitors who enjoy their visit to your site will likely recommend it to others—free advert and traffic for you. But this won’t happen unless your website contains well-written and interesting content.

Virtually all the tips I’ve shared with you here are things you can implement for free—or with minimal budget. Of course there are other forms of traffic generation that call for substantial financial costs—paid ad campaigns that can also yield you traffic.

For one thing, they’re a bit complicated and expensive, and should not be for the marketer who’s just starting out.

And for another, they’ve not been conclusively proven to be superior to these nearly-free methods of generating traffic to your MLM website. What is not in doubt however is that you do need website traffic—lots of it.

Do you realize how many people fail in MLM everyday? Many people want to start a home-based business so as to earn extra income or probably strike it rich. For most of these people, MLM and other aspects of direct marketing is the way to go.  And for good reasons:

Multi-Level Marketing is creating more millionaires today than any other industry; this is about the only business that can make you a million dollars and more per year without a single paid staff; and if you don’t feel like it, you actually don’t need an office. And did we mention that you also work at your convenience? Well, now you see why most people cannot resist the lure of Multi-Level Marketing.

Unfortunately only a little fraction of those going into MLM eventually realize the money and freedom they dream of. 9 out of every 10 persons gong into MLM WILL FAIL. That is a fact we all must accept. And such grim statistics naturally begs the question: why do so many fail in MLM? Could it be that MLM is not for everyone after all?

That is the debate in some quarters right now. But if you’re like me and most other MLM researchers, you’ll accept that anyone can succeed in MLM, and pretty much any other business. They just need the right attitude.

In Multi-Level Marketing, failure can be caused by any or all of the following reasons: a lack of experience in MLM strategies, inadequate capital, and a get-rich-quick mentality (impatience).

INEXPERIENCE is probably the greatest reason why most persons will end up not making money in MLM. Imagine that Nancy got introduced to this exciting product that her friend Lisa is selling. Nancy loves the products and knows that by reselling them she too can make some extra money. So Lisa enrolls her, and Nancy is now happy and excited to have her own network business.

 Weeks roll by and Nancy has neither made a sale nor introduced another distributor.  She doesn’t know the first thing about marketing as it relates to MLM. She doesn’t know how to invite people to join her opportunity. Meanwhile she has to continue to order for products from the company to keep her membership active. Now Nancy’s bills have started to pile. Still no commission checks in sight, she’s now overwhelmed, gets discouraged, and finally gives up.

That’s inexperience at work, a lack of marketing techniques. When MLM trainers and companies fail to teach their new distributors how to market effectively and profitably, they set them up for failure.

Before ever joining a network opportunity, you must do some research about the company. Study the company’s pay plan very carefully. You must also have your own marketing strategy, based on what has worked for other marketers in your chosen industry. Talk to experts in the business, and learn from them. Avoid emotional decisions when it comes to business investments.

Another reason why people fail in MLM is what I’ll call UNDERCAPITALIZATION. Sure you don’t need much money to get started in MLM. But you do need SOME money! Look, in this business you’re going to advertize both yourself and your products or business opportunity.

You are going to have to reach out to people to make them take a look at you and what you do so they can decide whether to join you. Whether your business is mainly carried on online on offline, you’ll need one form of advert campaign or the other to get you noticed.

Additionally, most MLM companies require that you make monthly purchases (and sometimes fees). It is partly from these that commissions are paid to uplines. So if your budget is such that you cannot afford these expenses, please don’t join MLM yet. You are likely to come to regrets.

True, it is possible for some persons to earn back their investment within weeks or months, but this is not the norm; the average new member will not earn anything substantial within the first six months. 

Finally people fail in MLM due to a LACK OF PATIENCE. Majority of people who start home-based MLM opportunities believe that the moment they get registered money will just start rolling in like clockwork. MLM is nothing near that.

 If you like truth, here it is: it will likely take you a few months to earn your first dollar; MLM takes time to build; and you are going to have to wait! This is also another reason you need to have enough money to carry you through the early stages. But once your business gains momentum, then the profits will begin to come in, first in trickles, and then later in torrents!

So you need to give your MLM business the time to grow, all the while implementing your marketing plan. Refuse to get discouraged. Make sure you join a company with a good reputation and high quality products—very important. And avoid joining many companies at the same time while starting out.  The profits will come if you follow these guidelines and remain steadfast and consistent with your strategies.
