It’s no longer news that Robert Dean Jr., Tahiti Noni’s No. 1 distributor has left TNI. And I suppose it’s also no longer news that he has pitched tent with Mona Vie, another network marketing company.

Yes debates as to why he left continues to rage, some comparing the move to that of a ‘bird which flies off the ground only to perch on an anthill’—very similar surfaces!

But I guess what remains news is, well, Robert Dean Jr. himself. Tahiti Noni International, Mona Vie, etc, the only reason we are interested in it all is because Robert Dean is involved. Isn’t that true?

So let’s see why this guy is a living legend.

Meet this well educated, former member of U.S. Marine corps. It would seem he had always succeeded in pretty much everything he had attempted. Robert’s romance with network marketing started as far back as the mid 90s.

He had convinced himself that the only way he could achieve the level of financial wealth he wanted was to become a leader in network marketing.

It didn’t take long before he hit the $10,000 per month mark. Mere mortals would’ve rested on their bottom and just coasted along in network marketing. Not Robert.

Dani Johnson is now a household name in the MLM community. She now makes her money in the millions and has authored numerous home business training materials. But her story hasn’t always been that interesting.

At the time she came into network marketing, she was among the poorest persons in the America; with only $2.03 to her name, probably even less, since she was also in debt. At the time, she was living right in her car. That is if the ramshackle stuff actually qualified to be called a car!

It may well have been the best approach then. But today, it’s a lot easier and often brings greater results to leverage technology and the internet to reach hundreds of thousands of prospects online, and establish some form of relationship with them, rather than cold-calling several individuals who have no idea what your are doing.

Online prospecting strategies have been proven to be both cheaper and easier to implement. Especially since network marketing itself is a game of numbers.

It’d be more cost effective to target say, 1000 persons online per month, knowing that probably only about 5% of these will sign up in the end—that’s 50 persons.

If you’re prospecting mainly offline, you can at most target 50 persons in a month. If even 10% of these sign up, what does that amount to? Less than 3 persons. Plus, you’ll spend more using traditional methods.

Dani Johnson is a respected MLM figure. And her methods have worked well for both she herself and her large crowd of students. Whether or not it will work for you depends on how you want to market your MLM, especially how you intend to get leads.

Why did Randy Schroeder leave Agel? Is it true that Darren Larsen (Mona Vie’s CEO) paid him $8-$15 million to pry him away from Agel? Did Randy join Mona Vie because they have a better marketing/compensation plan? Did he leave Agel because the company’s management has an aversion for internet marketing?

These are some of the hottest questions/gossip making the rounds within the MLM community at the moment. And the answers you’ll get will depend on who you’re talking to. A handful of Mona Vie associates say it’s Mona Vie’s products and compensation plan that attracted Schroeder (aren’t they happy to have him in their fold?).

Agel’s distributors on the other hand say it’s the money. The truth may never become clear, since even Randy Schroeder’s own response to the debate is often discounted as the justifications of the accused. But in my opinion, a more pertinent question is this: who cares?

Yes, does it really matter why he left and which company he decided to join? And if Mona Vie’s management deemed it right to extend a fat “sign-on fee” to lure him, again who cares?

Why is Randy Schroeder so courted by MLM companies? That’s a more useful question, you’ll agree. Well, this guy, Randy, focuses on building a network marketing company using traditional recruiting methods (no wonder he was such a hit with Agel!).

This often involves making a list of your closest friends and acquaintances, and contacting them in a very precise manner. He then delivers a 15-minute recording that provides the new prospects with specific information. This is often followed by an invitation to a traditional home business briefing, which lasts anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes.

Thus Randy’s major focus is recruiting—he even has a book on this with the title “Recruit, Recruit, Recruit, The Only Sure Way to Success.” And Randy had a resounding success as a network marketer, mainly because he was such a terrific recruiter.

Randy Schroeder’s recruiting method—the pros and cons: Working in close contact with Randy Schroder certainly has some advantages. He is so precise in his training that you’re left in no doubt as to what next step you ought to take in your marketing efforts in order to be successful.

And working with him personally, you’ll discover that he sure knows how to make money, lots of it. The guy is also pleasant as a person, and often goes beyond the call of duty to help hardworking marketers to succeed.

Those are the pros. The cons are that if your business involves using the internet to generate leads, Randy won’t be your best bet—remember we told you he came from an Agel background that frowns at internet marketing?

His recruiting methods too can teach you a great deal about how to grow your MLM business, but ONLY IF your business growth is tilted toward the angle that Randy’s teaching addresses.

Simply put, if you’re building your business solely based on traditional recruiting methods, look nowhere else. But if you are looking to harness the power of online recruiting techniques, such as by implementing a bit of attraction marketing strategies, please look elsewhere.

Randy Schroeder certainly isn’t a scam. The question of whether or not his training techniques will benefit your network business mostly depends on what you intend to achieve with your business, and more importantly, HOW you want to achieve it.

I also want to tell you most emphatically that you don’t really need to be a recruiting guru like Randy to start and succeed in network marketing. Some of the most important skills you need to prosper in the MLM world can be found in the right training community.

Tom Challan, the Father of MLM Phone Recruiting—A Review

Tom Challan is arguably the master of telephone recruitment.  He is one of the most successful recruiters of all time—he personally recruited over 500 distributors in one year into his primary business, working a mere 20 hours per week and adding an average of 40 new members each month.

Spending five hours or so per week creating your own leads will save you lots of money. It may even prove to be more effective for your network business in the long run.

For example, self-generated leads have been proven to be a faster way to establish some relationship with potential customers than purchased leads.

That means when you eventually have to bring in Tom Challan’s strategy by calling these self generated leads, you’ll be talking to someone who’s already interested in both you and your business opportunity. Recruiting is always easier that way.
