With all the MLM success stories around us (and yes, most of them are true), it’s all too easy to assume that everyone going into network marketing is assured a lifetime of financial transformation. But is that really the case? Well, from personal experience, I can say that the truth lies somewhere in between.

For sure MLM can make one rich. And it is one of the most popular business options for individuals who desire to earn extra income from home. It is also one of a few businesses that one can start with minimum financial investment and grow it to unbelievable levels within a relatively short time. The opportunity itself is real. And most of the ‘incredible’ success stories you hear and read about are indeed true.

But some myths need to be cleared. One of them is that this brand of business can be run on auto-pilot. Another one like it is that in network marketing, you only need to put in minimum effort and soon you’ll see the dollars roll in. Nothing can be farther from the truth! Unfortunately many people believe this lie and come into MLM with that mindset. It is no wonder statistics show that over 95% of all who venture into network marketing fail in the business or quit within six months.

If you won’t add to those numbers, then let’s show you the only route that leads to MLM success: daily efforts. Yes, the efforts you put in on daily basis are what will determine how you’ll fare in network marketing over time. Seldom do people start a new business, sit around, do very little or nothing, and expect the business to thrive.

Put differently, rarely does anyone plant a tree on thirsty soil, water it only once and expect the tree to flourish. No, the huge corporations we have around us were not built that way. And even if you’re not setting out to build a conglomerate, serious efforts are still required of you.

The list is almost endless. And you the marketer or distributor can choose the combination that suits your personality the most. But one thing is certain: you must promote your business opportunity in some ways on a regular business.

That way, you’ll be able to sell the products, and above all get some who’ll join as downlines. Products and downlines bring in money in the form of various commissions. But only downlines guarantee the future growth and expansion of your MLM business. The more people you’re able to recruit, the faster and bigger your business will grow. That’s why you need to make efforts each day to bring in more people into your team.

Your daily efforts must also include knowledge acquisition. You must stay up to date with happenings in your business segment. This will equip you with the latest methods of promoting the business as well as valuable information to address the needs of your downlines and prospects.

We can go on and on, but the bottom line is that if you want to see your MLM business grow at a deeper level, you must make some efforts everyday.

Do you manage your time effectively? How do you spend your time each day? Proper time management is an integral part of being a MLM entrepreneur. But this can be very challenging as there are many things craving your attention.

Indeed, more than just helping your business to grow, proper time management also improves the quality of your life; because it helps to free up a sizable amount of time each day and each week for you to use as you please.

Now, what does proper time management involve? Do not bother your head with how this is defined in academic circles. The most practical way to look at time management is that it involves organizing one’s tasks, prioritizing the tasks, and succeeding with the tasks in terms of completing them on time.

Begin by tracking your activities for a few days, starting from when you wake up till bedtime. Try and list out all the things you typically do in the course of each day. I bet you will be surprised how much time is wasted each day on non-essentials, non-business-related activities.

Next you need to prioritize your activities. What things must be done before others can make any sense? Identify that first step and perform it first. Remember that details of certain tasks become evident only after the first stages have been accomplished.

Also, if you take a closer look, you will discover that there are always bits of activities that will not hurt anybody if they are not done now or today—such as responding to an email or charting with a friend on the web or on phone. Such activities and similar non-urgent tasks should be postponed until vital tasks are done.

Finally, perform the tasks. Having organized what tasks need to be done, and having arranged them in order of importance, your next step is to swing to action and do the work. Resist the habit of procrastinating clearly-identified tasks. Remember that procrastination is the thief of time.

And we are talking time management here. So if you must manage your time well, hate procrastination. Do not wait until such a time when you could perform the tasks perfectly.

Perfection sometimes acts as the enemy of achievement because it prevents people from starting. You can also use outside sources to improve your activities and save time and energy.

Developing time management skills is a process. But it is worth your while as it is sure to help you achieve more with your business. Following the guides suggested in this article can help you manage your time better.

The desire to be lucky is as old as the history of mankind. It is just as strong now in this our jet age as it was five thousand or more years ago when men dwelt in caves.

Everywhere and during all ages, people have often hoped to be favored by the fabled goddess of good luck. Or have there not been times when even you yourself looked at someone and reasoned ‘lucky her ’or‘ I wish I was like him’?

So I guess I am in good company if I ask the question: What percentage of life’s success stories can truly be attributed to luck, and which to hard work? It is one of those questions whereby the answer you get depends on who you ask. So I decided not to ask anyone but myself. In search of answers, I read countless personal development books and autobiographies.

My finding and the conclusion I have drawn from my inquiries into this matter is what I have decided to share with you in this article.

Perhaps the most interesting book I read on the subject was “The Richest Man in Babylon” by George S. Clason. In the book, Clason described mother luck as ‘an impatient and fickle-minded goddess who does not waste her time on anybody who is not prepared.’

That sort of sums up everything else I discovered in my examination of successful people. Forget the lottery winners. Forget also the wealthy inheritors. If luck must favor you, there is something you must do: work hard at whatever it is you are doing.

Throughout life, opportunities will keep presenting themselves to all men in every profession. Some grasp the opportunities by taking quick and consistent action. And they go on to achieve their life’s desires. But the vast majority of people often hesitate, procrastinate, and needlessly delay taking prompt and decisive action. Or when they do, their commitment is feeble and so they soon give up. And what happens? You guessed it; they fail and consider themselves unlucky!

But the main idea I am sharing with you here is that a person’s “luck” is enhanced when they prepare themselves very well and take advantage of opportunities. This is opposed to the idea that luck is merely a desirable outcome that happens to a person without any real effort on their part.

Listen, luck can be attracted! When a person is determined to succeed in life, he takes advantage of all available opportunities; he works hard, learns more about his trade, and seeks ways to overcome obstacles. Luck can not ignore such a person for long. In fact, luck finds him out!

Yes, I know there are a few persons who became wealthy through sheer luck; such as those who won jackpots. But don’t you agree that as far as financial success stories are concerned, these are the exceptions? It isn’t the rule. Trust me on this, playing the game of life on the basis of blind chance is extremely risky.

We can further sum things up this way; the chances of succeeding in life through sheer luck is so remote that anyone who goes about life counting solely on luck to see them through may well end up a failure.

On the other hand, there doesn’t exist anybody who diligently worked at an activity and who did not achieve a measure of success. Yes, levels of success may vary, but all who put their heart to what they do eventually see good results.

So get luckier by working your MLM business harder and smarter! Recognize and take advantage of opportunities that regularly present themselves. That way, when luck comes knocking, you will be prepared for her bounties!

Deep down, we all have a desire to be better than what we presently are. Most are yearning to be better parents, better husbands or wives, a healthier person, a more efficient worker, a better organized entrepreneur, and so on.

But to achieve greater success, you’ll need to keep tweaking your goals a little higher, and disciplining yourself a little harder so as to stay on course and avoid distractions.

Select the Right Company: We are constantly assaulted these days to join one network opportunity or the other. Opportunities seem to abound everywhere. But their genuineness is another matter. To make your home business work, however, you have to be very selective about the company you decide to join.
It’s really strange how casually people treat this matter.

Many seem to act as if it doesn’t matter which company a person joins, as if all network marketing companies are just different roads leading to the same place! How mistaken! Do not join any company unless the answer to all the questions below is yes:

Does the company possess the fundamentals for continuous long-term growth? Is there a large and expanding market for their products? Are their products things that people GENUINELY need?

Will people have to re-order the products at fairly quick intervals (as opposed to one-time sales)?Do their products attract positive feedback from users?

Other things to consider include the nature of their support system, availability of cheaper alternatives to their products, as well as how easy it is for new members to duplicate their sales methods.

Teach Your Downline: If your home-based business involves recruiting new members, then bear in mind your success is intricately tied to theirs. This is both an asset and a liability.

There seems to be this baseless notion among most persons that in network marketing one can go on to prosper without doing much of anything at all. Well, I’m sure you don’t believe any of that crap.

Meanwhile, ensure that the people you recruit don’t believe that either. Otherwise they won’t work for their success, dragging you down with them. Insist that they commit themselves to following a success plan, just like you. Train them on ways to grow in the business.

Above all, do not recruit and abandon your downlines!
Have Some Money? It’s often been said that it takes money to make money. Forget what you’ve been told: home business is no exception.

Yes, the financial requirements here may not be in the thousands. But you DO need some money to begin with. You’ll surely need to pay to register with the company, to make monthly product purchases, prospect for and follow up on leads. All these call for money. In my opinion you’ll need an average of $200 per month to meet these obligations. And they’re important to building your business.

Home-based businesses are not inherently difficult to run. You only need to have a system in place and adhere to it. You should also teach those your recruit to do the same. In that case, you can make a home business work for you and your team.

MLM Leaders—Must You Train Your Downline?

MLM Leaders are you training your downline? The most interesting thing about network marketing resides in recruiting new members –your downline—who’ll work with you in the business. And if they are properly trained and motivated, they duplicate your efforts, and both they and YOU get paid for THEIR efforts.

Now that is in sharp contrast with what happens in a traditional job. In the corporate world, you merely trade your time at work for money in return for that work. If you desire more money, there are only two options: increase the number of hours you work, or try and convince your employer to give you a pay raise.

Don’t you agree that the first scenario, i.e. Network marketing, is better? Here you are freed from several problems associated with increasing the level of your pay.

As you increase the number of people working with you in your “network”, you are concurrently increasing the total number of hours and income generated by your business and for which you’ll get paid. This is the best way to leverage your time and efforts.

It becomes obvious therefore that a well-trained downline team is in the interest of all—the MLM company, the downline members themselves, and you the team leader. Without their active involvement in the business, you cannot leverage your time, and the very purpose of network marketing will be defeated—which is to leverage on the efforts of a team to increase output and income.

It is therefore crucial that you both train and always motivate members of your team. Teach them ways to do what you’re doing, as well as what your own upline is doing. Indeed, occasionally invite your direct upline and other leaders in the business to help train them. This increases their own chances of success. And invariably, their success is your success.

Training doesn’t necessarily have to take all your time either. At times, all you have to do is simply pass along what your upline or other leaders send you. You surely have more contacts within the company than your downline members, so you no doubt have access to more resources that they do.

Giving them helpful resources that you come in touch with or referring them to ezine articles or some other websites you found to be interesting or helpful can do them a world of good. Those are all parts of the training we’re talking about.

You generally need to keep in constant touch with your downlines, informing, motivating, and guiding them along the way. Show interest in their growth and development.

Training Your Downlines is the surest way to ensure they’ll remain with you and remain in the business. You’ll surely gain a larger downline faster if you keep in touch with and train them. Your credibility among these downline members will also grow over time, and it will be a lot easier for you to sign them up in other MLM opportunities you may decide to join in the future.

Just remember that the ultimate goal of residual income in network marketing cannot be achieved solely on your own efforts. Only a well-trained downline team can make your MLM dreams come true. So you need each other, and it’s hard to say who needs the other more.

In the end I believe training your downline is a mutually beneficial effort. Unfortunately, too many marketers fail to realize this; they simply sign people up, forget them, and move on to the next prospect.

Don’t make that mistake. Stay in constant touch with, inform, and motivate your downline members. They are business associates whose success will determine yours.

But let’s begin by pointing out that the telephone is a very essential offline tool for promoting your business. It is easily the most effective way to build a relationship with a prospect or customers.

Some persons have built massive followership and customer base within a relatively short time simply as a result of knowing how to use the telephone to engage prospects and customers. Conversely, so many businesses have become rationalized and crippled due to a failure to use the phone proficiently.

That said, what specific steps can you take to conquer the fear of calling prospects on phone?

Let’s say your fear is that you will be rejected. You have to face the facts here: in sales, you often have to be rejected many times before you will finally be accepted. But the mere fact that you will eventually be accepted ought to drive you on.

It is the way it has happened to all the great sales people you hear about today. Their grand strategy which should become yours today is to make so many calls so as to average a couple positive responses in a day or a week.

Or do you fear that your prospect will interrupt while you speak and thus derail your delivery? The solution to this is simple: do not prepare a script to be read out to a prospect. Instead prepare and rehearse a conversation.

That way, if there is an ‘interruption’, you can easily glide over it and continue with the discussion. Indeed, I prefer not to describe a prospect’s contributions or questions as interruptions. Don’t they have a right to speak? Only their contributions make the sales talk meaningful. Otherwise you can not tell what is on their mind if you monopolize the discussion.

Are you afraid the prospect will ask a follow-up question you can not answer? I have two things to tell you here, (1) no one is expected to know everything about everything, and (2) you have the opportunity to learn new things everyday.

The difference lies in how you pause for time to come up with the information a prospect may ask for. That is what separates the professionals from the fretful.

So even when a prospect asks a question whose answer you don not readily have, stay composed. In your own words, say something like “that is a really good question, could you spare a minute while I verify that for you, or may I call you back?” or you could say something like “no one has asked me that question before.

Do you mind if I look into it on your behalf and get back to you in a couple of minutes?” Every manner of prospects and customers would rather give you a few minutes or more to look into their questions than have you hazard a guess that soon fails to hold water.

If you are a business owner, the telephone is your friend. Do not treat it as an enemy. Follow the tips I have offered you here and you will soon discover that your reasons for not calling those prospects are a bit exaggerated.

Attraction Marketing is a relatively new term in network marketing. Very few marketers can claim to fully understand it, and even fewer are effectively applying it in their online MLM business.

The notion behind attraction marketing is simply that people would rather do business with someone they find attractive. But don’t go just yet. We aren’t discussing physical beauty here.

Perhaps a better way to put it is that customers prefer to patronize someone, a marketer, whose personality and approach they find appealing. Customers are in effect attracted to such a marketer.

Fortunately, virtually all the things that can make you attractive before a customer or prospect are things you can learn. In order words, in attraction marketing, you suffer no disadvantages as a result of some talents you are not born with. Isn’t that great?

That said, the main thing you need to bear in mind concerning this marketing concept is that you need to know those things that attract people to people. Yes, why would a customer prefer to order a product from one online marketer out of the several that have been approaching him?

And why would this customer keep going back to this same marketer each time he needs another of that product or a related product? We can’t quite pin it down to coincidence. It all comes down to a few things that one marketer does differently (and better!) than the other marketers.

Two things are very central in attraction marketing: (1) under normal conditions, people would patronize the marketer who understands his products and business very well. (2) People would choose the marketers who care about the buyers’ feelings.

One thing that will attract clients to you as an online marketer is having a good knowledge of the product you’re selling. How would you perceive a marketer who couldn’t answer your questions concerning a product he’ or she is introducing to you?

If the marketer gave you some mixed-up and incomprehensible information regarding his product or business, are you likely to buy into whatever he or she is promoting? Unlikely.

So don’t be that marketer! A lack of demonstrable knowledge of what you’re promoting repels rather than attracts prospects. It creates doubts in the minds of potential clients.

But if on the other hand you expertly educate a prospect about a product or service, doing so in a manner that teaches the prospect the various ways he can maximize the utility of a product or service, you would have won their trust and confidence!

They’ll come back to you the next time they need information around your niche market. Also, such impressed clients are more likely to consider your recommendations. If you send them newsletters, they’ll be eager to read it.

If you comment on their blog or on their social media page, they’ll look out for your comments first. Why? Because you have established trust. You have positioned yourself as someone who knows a bit more than the others.

So a key factor in practicing attraction marketing is to gain as much knowledge about your business or product as you possibly can. That way, when you say a little, people will want to hear more. They will keep seeking you out as a reliable source of correct information, an authority. That’s free leads for your online MLM business!

To fully maximize the benefits of attraction marketing, you should also give information to your prospects in ways that show you really care about their success and well-being. Do not give the impression that you’re after the money only.

Of course your prospects undoubtedly know you’re in business to earn a living, just like everyone else. But unlike everyone else, give an indication that you can help them earn a living too with their business.
In order words you’re to give the impression that your presence in their lives will benefit both of you.

Such an attitude of caring for prospects’ interests, if shorn of pretentiousness, is in fact the central magnet of attraction marketing. This is the key to effortlessly attracting torrents of free leads to your MLM business on a daily basis.

Nothing else works better and lasts for longer as a means of generating free leads than establishing yourself as someone who always has something of value to give to those who come to you for help with their online business. And if you couple this with a caring personality, then you’ll never need to buy leads for your online MLM business.
