Is Procrastination Robbing You Of Time And Money?
Is procrastination killing your MLM Business? At one time or the other, we’ve all been guilty of it; staying glued to the couch and the TV when there’s work to do; Putting off some important actions until we have to rush and perform them poorly; Postponing a condolence visit until doing so becomes embarrassing to both us and the host, etc.
Let’s quickly narrow the consequences of procrastination down to how it can adversely affect the business you set out to build. When we procrastinate, what happens is that the initial interest we had in that activity and therefore the priority we assigned to it gradually wanes.
When we continue to procrastinate, other activities will continue to build up. Finally, you’ll begin to feel that things aren’t happening fast enough. Then you get overwhelmed, discouraged, and disinterested.
Don’t let that happen to your well thought-out network marketing plan. Start implementing what should be implemented right away. Confront and kill the destructive habit of procrastination, or else it will kill your business.
Here are 4 tips to help you win the fight against procrastination:
Aim at one thing at a time: there’s an African proverb that if you chase two goats at the same time, you’ll catch neither. When you over-task yourself, there’s a tendency to get overwhelmed by the workload. In the end you’ll do nothing.
It’s a lot better to set smaller manageable goals. For example, rather than focusing on writing 240 articles in 3-6 months period, why not break it down to something like 5 articles every week.
In the end you may still achieve your 240-article-per-year target. Shrinking tasks down in this way alleviates the thoughts of feeling overwhelmed.
Moreover, when you set an unwieldy target, you may never seem to have enough time on hand to tackle it, causing you to procrastinate. But when a task is small, we find it easier to get it done with so we can face other things.
Write tasks down: this is one of the most effective strategies to getting things done—and on time. When we write things down, we keep them staring us in the face until we perform those tasks.
So you should not only put important tasks down in writing, you should also keep them where you would frequently bump unto them. Take them out only after they’ve been performed.
Don’t be too competitive: if you constantly measure your achievements in MLM by comparing it with what others are doing, that could lead to procrastination. It works both ways. If the person you are comparing yourself with is obviously achieving far greater success than you , there’s a tendency to feel intimidated.
You could begin to feel like “what’s the point trying. I could never be like this guy. He’s already up there—web content, followership, and of course earnings.”
On the other hand, if the marketer you are looking at is way behind you in achievement, you could begin to feel conceited, like what you’ve achieved is already enough in comparison.
Either way, the tendency would be to put off things that ought to be done. So run your own race! Perform your tasks without looking back.
There is also a tendency to procrastinate when we are not seeing immediate results from our sincere efforts. There may then be a tendency to put off performing certain tasks relating to our MLM goals since the previous efforts are yet to bear fruits.
Is that your experience? The way to overcome this feeling is to remind your self that in MLM, content is compounding. They build up not only in size but also in effect over time. This means that those previous efforts that you thought were in vain are just bidding their time to bear fruit.
So keep working your plan. Refuse to procrastinate. Above all, refuse to give up. Only consistent right actions bring positive results in this and all other businesses.
Thanks,

LOL is that what you young people would say in this cases? Hello there, i’m a 84 years old grandfather and I’ve just found this website in my browser history. My nephew used my laptop the last time he went here, I believe… he says LOL pretty often but I’ve started to undertand what it means only recently but he’s a good boy after all. Keep doing your best Sandra, Internet is a real blessing and you have no idea how lucky you are. Best wishes by a old man commenting for the first time

Hi Sandra - Yes, procrastination is that evil monster lurking under all our desks. We absolutely have to break things down into workable and regular tasks to stay on track.
Hey Sandra,
Just joined unified tribe. One of the many steps I’m taking to work with the power of many. Love this business and your blog! Beautiful and simple.

Rick
Hello Rick,

I just wish which you dont drop your design simply because youre certainly just one from the coolest bloggers around. Please keep it up since the online demands a person like you spreading the word.
I admire what you could have completed below. I such as the portion in which you say that you are accomplishing this to provide back but I would presume by all of the comments that this is operating for you as well.
This is my first time i visit here. I found so many entertaining stuff in your blog, especially its discussion. From the tons of comments on your articles, I guess I am not the only one having all the leisure here! Keep up the excellent work.
Hey Sandra - its a nice blog, just looking around some blogs, seems a pretty nice platform you are using. I’m currently using Wordpress for a few of my sites but looking to change one of them over to a platform similar to yours as a trial run. Anything in particular you would recommend me about it?
Thanks for taking the time to discuss this, I feel strongly about it and love reading more on this topic. If possible, as you gain expertise, would you mind updating your blog with more information? It is extremely helpful for me.
Since coaching people one-on-one or organizing a local seminar would limit my reach, I have decided to come up with this comprehensive course so you can start learning how to become a successful marketing ‘rock star’ in your own rights… regardless of where you are now and what time it is on your side.
That is some inspirational stuff. Never knew that opinions could be this varied. Thanks for all the enthusiasm to offer such helpful information here.
Great article you’ve written, is this your first website blog or have you been doing this a while? I’d be interested in reading some more of your things. Links please?
Remarkable data and I’m glad I determined you as a result of Gogle, Your goods is the ideal!!

This is such a great resource that you are providing and you give it away for free. I love seeing websites that understand the value of providing a quality resource for free. It?s the old what goes around comes around routine. Did you acquired lots of links and I see lots of trackbacks??
I can see that you are an expert at your field! I am launching a website soon, and your information will be very useful for me.. Thanks for all your help and wishing you all the success in your business.
Awesome article, but just curious, what is your main field of expertise? Do you write part time, or are you a professional in your field? I wouldn’t mind reading an About Us section or something to describe what you do so I can better understand your point of view.
Thank you so much for this valuable information. Very useful indeed. . . . .
I tried to subscribe to your rss feed, but had a problem adding it to google reader. Could you please check this out.
